CSVI Pro 5.8 & CSVI Free 4.5.3

With the new release schedule in hand, new versions were released of both CSVI Pro and CSVI Free.

CSVI Pro 5.8

This release contains quite a long list of changes, let me highlight the most important ones. First are the fixes implemented:

• Fixed image path duplicate check in VirtueMart Product import
• Fixed shipping rate fields not recognized on VirtueMart Shipping Rate import
• Fixed images in subfolders on VirtueMart Product import
• Fixed images in subfolders on VirtueMart Media import
• Fixed issues with accented characters in error reporting
• Fixed non-image import in the VirtueMart Media import
• Fixed bug with manufacturer selection
• Fixed template override path
• Fixed export template not show source
• Let cron use hostname from settings

What is more interesting of course, are the new features in CSVI Pro 5.8. Here are the new features:

• Added shopper_group_name_price to VirtueMart Product import
  This allows you to import prices for a specific shopper group in the product import
• Added EZ Realty Image import/export
  Images for EZ Realty can now be imported and exported with CSVI Pro
• Added user agent string when checking if image exists
  Some servers want a user-agent when checking if an image exists. This makes the check more robust.
• Added option to re-create slugs on VirtueMart Product import
  When you update products it might be necessary to re-create the product slug, this option allows you to do that.
• Redesign the multiple prices management
  This will be explained a little later.
• Added multiple product images to picture_url for VirtueMart Product export
  With this option, the picture_url field can export more than 1 image if needed. This can be used for Google Base for example. Multiple images are comma separated.
• Added download debug button to Log list
  You can download the debug log now directly from the Log list
• Added open debug log full screen to Log list
  You can view the debug log in full screen
• Added Field mapper
  This is a new tool to help you create your templates. See the Field Mapper tutorial for details.
• Made the use of cookies optional
  Some servers don't like the cookie handling because of strict security settings. In the Settings you can turn off the use of cookies.

CSVI Free 4.5.3.2

The new CSVI Free release contains a number of notable fixes, these are:

• Fixed fatal error in VirtueMart Product import for shopper groups
• Fixed product discount price missing mathop for VirtueMart Product import
• Fixed images in subfolders on VirtueMart Product import
• Fixed images in subfolders on VirtueMart Media import
• Fixed issues with accented characters in error reporting
• Fixed product_packaging and product_box on VirtueMart Product import
• Fixed issue with price field exports
• Fixed export template not show source
• Fixed custom fields delimiter

There is one change in the use of importing prices:

• Added shopper_group_name_price to VirtueMart Product import
  This allows you to import prices for a specific shopper group in the product import

Redesign the multiple prices management

VirtueMart recently introduced the feature that you can assign multiple prices to a single product. In earlier versions of CSVI there was support for this but it needed some love. The price import has now been given a lot of love and has been given a redesign and added some features. With the price import you can now:

• Import prices per shopper group
• Change the shopper group
• Change the price
• Delete a price

How to use the price import and use these new features has been explained in the Manage VirtueMart 2 prices tutorial. These features are only available in CSVI Pro.
