Moving forward
My friends,
The time has come to move forward. Joomla 1.0 has long been a dear friend to us all but now it is time to say goodbye. Now that Joomla 1.5 has been out for some time and more people are embracing this great new CMS, CSV Improved and all of it's products are going to embrace Joomla 1.5 also. Soon we will see the release of Joomla 1.6 and this version will no longer support Joomla 1.0 programs, not even in legacy mode. This can be read on the Joomla Developers site.
Besides that the VirtueMart team has also decided to focus their development on PHP 5 and Joomla 1.5 in the near future with the upcoming VirtueMart 2.0.
What does this mean?
CSVI SOBI
Development of CSVI SOBI is currently under way to making it a native MVC Joomla 1.5 component. The next release of CSVI SOBI will be a Joomla 1.5 only release. At first this will be more a conversion release than a feature release. As soon as the new version is ready, it will be available for free to existing customers.
Support for the Joomla 1.0 version will continue for bug and security fixes until Joomla 1.6 stable has been released. The Joomla 1.5 version will have full support.
CSVI Improved
This means that all feature development on CSV Improved 0.9 beta 2 will stop immediately. The goal will be to work towards a stable 0.9 release in the near future (time permitting). After that development will commence to convert CSV Improved to a native MVC Joomla 1.5 component.
Support for the Joomla 1.0 version will continue for bug and security fixes until Joomla 1.6 stable has been released. The Joomla 1.5 version will have full support.
VmCategoryModule
The VmCategoryModule is already available as a Joomla 1.5 native component.

The VmCategoryBot is already available as a Joomla 1.5 native plugin.
