First time VMart user, found CSVI, got the hang of it quickly. Does work perfectly, and gives so many benefits over not using it (i.e. backup of catalog in a spreadsheet). Wholly recommend it for any VMart users. I also noticed the support is very fast.

The Virtue Mart database is quite complex and therefore importing products etc. by writing your own SQL would require quite a lot of development effort. If you have more than a few products, using the VM interface is very time consuming. CVSI tool makes it very easy to import your whole store, including all products, users, prices, manufacturers - everything. Not only that, but if your prices change regularly, then you can simply update your prices in your .xls (or Open Office) file, export to CVS and then update everything. I would highly recommend using this product if you have anything more than 20/30 products. Also, the support from Roland is excellent.

CSVI was tasked with getting products out of a bit of legacy software designed to list for eBay. After a bit of help through the forum, supplied by the chap who wrote the software, it came up trumps. We needed to move our VirtueMart music store to a new domain and CSV Improved was the perfect solution! We were also upgrading the store from Joomla! 1.0x to Joomla! 1.5x so we needed to export everything first, then import everything when we were ready. It worked just as advertised! CSVI VM is a great product. We have over 1,500 products to populate a new website. Doing this any other way is out of the question. And yes you can get lovely Content Management Systems, one I enquired about was £15,000 and does no more. Long live opensource!! Thanks Roland, great product, great response to your forums. Gerald.
