Problem solved


I have been adding additional images in virtuemart using
FileManager::Image/File List NEW

As I have 30,000 sku's with an image, doing this manually is very time consuming. What is the Product field name that I should use to include this image for importing using CSVI Virtuemart.

I know understand that I should be using the Template Product files import
and I have defined the nine fields infrom the database after viewing it via phpMyAdmin and the template. The field names I have used are;


product_sku
product_files_file_name
product_files_file_title
product_files_file_description
product_files_file_url
product_files_file_published set to Y
file_is_image set to 1
file_extension set to jpg
file_mimetype set to image/pjpeg

I have imported these fields using the import facility but I have noticed that the last three values are not being written to the database, and so on the flypage in virtuemart I only see a link to the image.

In virtuemart backend viewing the product FileManager::Image/File List for
I notice that the paper clip image is shown in the place of the Role

This is because the file_is_image value '1' is missing from the import.

My question is why is the import only showing;

file_is_image

and not

product_files_file_is_image

When I add the value 1 in this field in the database via phpMyAdmin the image appears correctly as a thumbnail and as the full image when clicked.

If changing the import file path is not possible, i have changed the default value in the db from 0 to 1 and it works fine for me but others should review whether this is the right solution for them on an individual basis.

Hey Jeff2,

CSVI VirtueMart tries to determine if the file is an image by reading the header of the file. Now for some reason it seems to think your images are not images and as such the file_is_image gets set to 0.

What I am interested in, if you could post or PM me, is the debug log of 1 of your imports. This will tell me what it is doing and what the result is. If you can do this for 1 image and include the image also I would be grateful.

The reason it tries to determine if a file is an image or not is because the multiple files can also be used for documents/pdf files etc.

i have the same problem with my server. The solution directly in the DB is good for now. But when my customer whants to have addit. files and addit. pic then I have a bigger problem.

I would like to see your debug log to know what is happening on your server. Please post it and I will have a look.

there is not much in there:

The adding/import is not the problem. He just don't get the "file-is-image=1" parameter.

What I would like to know is, why does CSVI VirtueMart think your image is not an image? That is the question I am trying to figure out The debug report should give some clues to that.
