Importing . . .

Read this first and make sure you checked all steps: www.csvimproved.com/csvi-virtuemart-documentation/f.a.q/ troubleshooting-import-errors.html

When opening a new topic, give as much information as you can. Information such as:

* VirtueMart version
* CSVI VirtueMart version
* Sample of the file being imported
* Collected debug information

Very valuable is also the steps you take that lead up to the issue you are facing. Last but definitely not least, add your debug information. This gives me a good insight as to what is happening.

Where to get the debug information?

A tutorial (www.csvimproved.com/csvi-virtuemart-documentation/f.a.q/how-to- collect-debug-information.html) has been written to help you collect your debug information. Use this to help me help you

I have spent hours working through different scenarios and cannot get the import to work correctly.

1. I have done a test with a limited number of products and fields that WORKED.
2. When I expand to the full list of fields . . . something is WRONG.

First Line: ~product_sku~^~product_name~^~product_price_id~^~category_path~^~produ ct_special~^~product_full_image~^~product_desc~^~product_weight~^~attr ibute_name~^~attribute_value~^~product_price~^~ship_code_id~^~manufact urer_name~^~manufacturer_id~^~product_packaging~^~product_availability ~^~attribute~^~attributes~^~~

Results for 4 products:
# Incorrect column count: Configuration: 18 fields :: File: 19 fields
# Incorrect column count: Configuration: 18 fields :: File: 19 fields
# Incorrect column count: Configuration: 18 fields :: File: 19 fields

# Incorrect column count: Configuration: 18 fields :: File: 1 fields

First line:
Remove the final "~"

Results:
It thinks there is only ONE line being imported!

Frustrated to say the least.

I do have an XML and pipedelimited file to work with. I have been using the piedelimited as I am more familiar with that . . .

Any/All help would be appreciated.

It is all in your log file.

check the delimeter in the lines between

# Incorrect column count: Configuration: 18 fields :: File: 19 fields
# Incorrect column count: Configuration: 18 fields :: File: 1 fields

@Kimmer: You can use pipe delimiters in a CSV file also, that is no problem.
