Don't just say it doesn't work but describe in detail what is happening and add the following information:
* VirtueMart version
* CSVI version (Latest is not a version number)
* Sample of the file being imported
* Collected debug information

Without this information you won't get a useful answer. If no debug log is attached, you will get a request to post it.

Where to get the debug information?

hi there,

Sorry to hear they hacked your website, I issued a big backup shortly after reading that.

I have to report a problem with new version of csv improved. The -previously perfectly working- import of csv is exported from M$ Access. Now the product_description field, which is a memo field in Access, import the text until it finds an accented letter (àèìòù). From then on it stops import on that field so all fields get truncated. You can see it on www.dominiox.com -> choose whatever articles from PS3 or X360.

Previously it was working.

Further, did you introduce cdate and mdate fields?

Hello Cristian,

Which VM and which Joomla version are you using? Do you have iconv installed?

In this new release all exports are standard UTF-8. On import if your version is Joomla 1.0.x, it converts the data back to ISO-8895-1. It seems that if you already have ISO-8895-1, the text might be broken.

As for cdate and mdate, it should be in the release but I just checked, it seems I have forgotten a bit :blush: Will be in the next release.

Hi Roland,

I am using JOOMLA 1.0.12 and Virtuemart 1.0.10

I am in Italy and using italian language.

Now I reverted back to previous version and it started working again.

Further, it seems that some italian translation words are missing and some blank spaces appear in the menu, if you want I can screate some screenshots for you but I think the translator could easily check them.

I will await for an mdate and cdate import, it seem that some other people discussed this in the vm forum.

After I finish the new CSVI version, I will send it to you to test, is that OK?

As for the Italian language file, it was e-mailed to me. You are welcome to translate the missing pieces and send me the complete one. It will make the program better :)

I am also having problems with importing although seems to be different problem. The problem i have is i have made a template and when i upload the file everything seems perfect in the preview but when i click on the import button all that happens is it quickly goes to the finished screen and says nothing is imported.I am using 08 5b on joomla 1.14 and virtuemart 1.0.13a.

I also have another site running joomla 1.5.1 and virtuemart 1.1 with the same version of csvi this one gives me the following error Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/sites/ezjshop.com/public_html/joo/administrator/components/com_csvimproved/classes/excel/reader.php on line 31. any ideas how to cure these as i have over 4,000 products to upload. Also neither of them will export either.
