End of Joomla 1.5 and the tax increase
By now quite a few years have passed since the first release of Joomla 1.5, this version came available on January 22nd 2008, and the active support ended on April 30th 2012. The plan is that when Joomla 3.0 comes available at the end of September 2012, in approximately 2 weeks, there will be a definite end to Joomla 1.5. A beautiful infographic has been made by Sander Potjer with the Joomla release dates. A lot of websites have already migrated to Joomla 2.5, this is now the long term support release until December 2013. As for CSVI, no new developments will be made for the Joomla 1.5 release and development will concentrate on Joomla 2.5 and 3.0. The current Joomla 1.5 versions will remain available for download for those who still use Joomla 1.5.
At the same time that Joomla 1.5 support ends, so does the old tax rate of 19% and is increased to 21% on October 1st 2012. CSVI will see a price increase because of this but only the tax. For those who are tax exempt this price increase is not applicable.
Tip! do not forget to increase the tax on your website if you live in The Netherlands on October 1st 2012. Put a reminder in your agenda.
